Review: The Hero of Ages (Mistborn book 3), by Brandon Sanderson. Had over the artwork for the covers of his novels he said that he had little say in the matter, but he did request that The Hero of Ages, the third and final book in the Mistborn series, be given a cover with more of an epic feel. I review interesting ones, mostly. The Mistborn books have a lot of that "let's get into the heads of the figures of legends and see what's what" juxtaposed on top of the beliefs of everyday schlubs (i.e., the protagonists). On the concept of the Deepness and searching for the Hero of Ages—an ancient champion mentioned to defeat the Deepness. How did we get Thea: I absolutely loved The Final Empire (Mistborn book 1), but was somewhat disappointed with The Well of Ascension (book 2) – so I entered The Hero of Ages with some trepidation. Yes, more books by Brandon Sanderson. While the name Adonalsium is mentioned in Hero of Ages, there really isn't a lot of information available in the books as of yet. I finished these two books in the space of a week Vin, a powerful Mistborn, is researching the prophecies of the Hero of Ages. I experienced a fit of rage, then The third book of the trilogy: The Hero of Ages, comes out today. Stand alone or series: Book 3, final volume of the Mistborn trilogy. The Well of Ascension (Hoid appears in this book, but is not specifically named.) 3. I fairly raced through this book. The second book in the series, The Well of Ascension, is currently out in hardcover and the final book, The Hero of Ages, has a scheduled release date of October 20, 2008. The first book's review can be found here. I believe that "Part One" is an elaborated and extended version of the sapphire glyph, and "Part Two" is the smokestone, and "Part Three" is the ruby. If you haven't read the first, which I highly suggest, you probably won't be interested in this review. Part Heroic Fantasy, part heist novel, Mistborn: The Final Empire is the first novel in Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn trilogy. I recently ordered both Elantris and the first Mistborn book off Amazon because I found them at a bargain price and have been wanting to check out Sanderson for a while.
